Using a common IP cache location for all the project will speed up
compile time of common blocks used in base designs. Example a MicroBlaze
core for VCU118 once compiled it will be reused on other projects.
Using a common IP cache will speed up re-compiles of every project in OOC
mode since the cache won't be cleared as with normal compile flow.
The standard Makefile output is very noisy and it can be difficult to
filter the interesting information from this noise.
In quiet mode the standard Makefile output will be suppressed and instead a
short human readable description of the current task is shown.

Quiet mode is enabled by default since it generates a more human readable
output. It can be disabled by passing VERBOSE=1 to make or setting the
VERBOSE environment variable to 1 before calling make.
E.g.
> make adv7511.zed VERBOSE=1

At the moment targets are created for any file that is in a sub-directory
of the project directory. This is not the intended behavior. Targets should
only be generated for sub-projects. We can identify those by filtering for
sub-directories that have a Makefile.
E.g. some of those invalid targets were "adv7511.Makefile" and
"scripts.adi_board.tcl".

The project the help text uses as its example does no longer exist. Replace
it with a different project.

Clean ran for a project will clean only the project files.
Clean-all ran for a project will clean also the library files on which the project depends.
The clean commands will only remove specific files and directories.
The top Makefile allows several options(per suggestion from jameyhicks):
make fmcomms1.zed will run "make all" in projects/fmcomms1/zed/
make clean will run "make clean" for all the projects
make clean-all will run "make clean" for all the projects and libraries
make lib will run "make all" for the library files
