Daniel Richard G 3cfe6b6da1 Synthesize accelerator labels (e.g. "Ctrl+S") instead of hard-coding them
GraphicsWindow::menu[] previously recorded both item names (e.g. "Open...")
and accelerator labels ("Ctrl+O") in .label, and accelerator key/mask
values in .accel. Not only were the accelerator labels redundant given the
latter, they are not needed by GUI toolkits like FLTK, which generate them
from key/mask values.

So we remove the accelerator portion from each menu-item label, and define
a new MakeAcceleratorLabel() routine which takes a key/mask value and
returns the appropriate label. We make use of this new routine in
CreateGraphicsWindowMenus() and GraphicsWindow::ToolbarDrawOrHitTest().

Daniel Richard G 2499a02f2f Minor changes to GraphicsWindow::menu[]
* Added a comment header identifying the columns

* Added Ctrl-Q accelerator for "Exit", as this is standard

* Replaced a Latin-1 "degree" character with an octal escape, to avoid
  source-file encoding issues

* Undefine (some of) the convenience macros used to define the table
(the method aliases are numerous and unlikely to collide with anything)

Daniel Richard G 4a2711476c Record accelerator for "Show Snap Grid" as '>' instead of Shift-'.'
If we are to synthesize accelerator labels from values of
GraphicsWindow::menu[].accel, it will be more straightforward if
accelerators are represented in the same way that they appear in the menu.
(Windows does return the keystroke as VK_OEM_PERIOD with a Shift modifier,
so we add some special-case logic to recognize that.)

Daniel Richard G 9da2a3a6c7 Use symbolic names for special keys and modifiers
Easier to remember e.g. DELETE_KEY instead of 127 or CTRL_MASK instead of
0x200, and better to have a single definition of each.

Daniel Richard G 37063840db Don't use magic values in GraphicsWindow::menu[].level
We can identify the "Open Recent" and "Import Recent" submenus just as
easily by looking at the value of the .id field (MNU_OPEN_RECENT and
MNU_GROUP_RECENT, respectively).

Daniel Richard G 07b128b877 Define some menu-bar menu items as radio buttons
Some menu items in the menu-bar are toggles (each representing an option
that can be turned on or off independently), and some are 1-of-N selections
(e.g. mm or inches), like tuner buttons on a car radio. Windows can draw an
optional check-mark besides a menu item, and SolveSpace has been using this
feature to implement both kinds of menu items, with the backend logic
making them behave as a toggle or radio button as appropriate.

Other GUI platforms can draw proper radio-button menu items that are
distinct from toggles, however. To allow the platform-specific logic to
tell the two kinds of menu items apart, this change adds the
RadioMenuById() routine, and replaces the appropriate calls to
CheckMenuById() with it. (Note that nothing is changed in the Windows GUI
code; radio-menu items are still drawn with check-marks.)

Daniel Richard G e256956d12 Added missing items to GraphicsWindow::menu[] elements
Several MenuEntry elements in GraphicsWindow::menu[] were being initialized
with four items instead of the requisite five, due to a missing fourth
column (corresponding to the .accel field of MenuEntry). This change simply
adds zeroes as the missing column to the appropriate elements.

Daniel Richard G 02776ea535 Added const qualifiers
String literals in C++ are implicitly typed as 'const char *', and with
this change, their const-ness is maintained when assigning them to
variables or passing them as arguments. This significantly cuts down the
number of warnings generated by the compiler.

Jonathan Westhues 8481c54012 Major UI changes, to use the checkboxes and radio buttons wherever
possible. This replaces all of the color-coded links, that I liked
but that were nonstandard.

Also rip out the old sweep and helical sweep UI; that was disabled,
but the code was still present.

And fix dependencies in makefile, since textwin.cpp depends on the

Jonathan Westhues 0246add3e9 Replace ugly text links to hide/show things with icons. So add code
to draw those, and hit test with the mouse, and display tool tips
when the user hovers with the mouse. Also, underline links only
when they're hovered, and not otherwise.

And add a separate menu option to align the view to the active
workplane, vs. activating the active group's workplane, and
remap the bottom two graphics window toolbar icons to that and
"nearest iso view" instead of draw in 2d/3d, since people tended
to click on those without understanding and cause trouble.

And by default, we force a parallel projection; so the factory
default camera tangent is now 0.3, not 0.

Jonathan Westhues b974a4adeb A big nasty change, originally just to add paste transformed. So it
does that, and adds a scale factor to that transformation (instead
of just mirroring, as before), but also:

    * Replace the "import mirrored" mechanism with a scale factor,
which if negative corresponds to a reflection as well.

    * Fix self-intersection checker to report a meaningful point
      when edges are collinear.

    * Don't blow an assertion on some types of invalid file;
instead provide a nice error message to the user.

    * Clear the naked edges before each regen.

    * Don't create zero-length line segments by snapping a line
      segment's end to its beginning.

Jonathan Westhues 9723f4e44f Add support for a clipboard, with cut, copy, and paste. This works
only in a workplane; but this means that plane sketches are

triggering an error, and to remove arbitrary limit on the number of
entities / comments that will be snapped.

Jonathan Westhues 4cfe7eea64 Split cubic splines and periodic splines too; which is a pain,
because it can't be C2 continuous after splitting (since I'm
doing uniform splines only, and the parametrization changes). So
just knock everything down to cubic Beziers.

rotate in plane of screen.

Jonathan Westhues 28d1bc67bc Two ugly hacks. Don't do the trick where I also deselect the point
under the just-deselected coincident point when I'm working on
batches, which really could have selected that underneath point.
And always pwl curves to at least two line segments (and likewise
retain at least one intermediate point when removing short edges),
to avoid confusion when holes end up square.

2009-11-03 23:59:23 -08:00
Jonathan Westhues b9ab62ab3f Remove arbitrary limits on the selection size, and permit more than
one point to be dragged simultaneously. So now a dragged point
drags all the selected points and entities, and a dragged entity
drags its points (except for circles, which drag the radius).

This means that the number of forced points for the solver must now
be unlimited, and it is.

Also add commands to invert the selection within the active group,
and to select an edge chain starting from the current selection.
And redo the context menus a bit; still not great, but less
cluttered and more systematic.

Jonathan Westhues 2f115ec950 A monster change to add support for filled paths. This requires us
to assemble Beziers into outer and inner loops, and find those
loops made up of entities with filled styles. The open paths are
maintained in a separate list, and we assemble as many closed paths
as possible even when open paths exist.

This changes many things. The coplanar check is now performed on
the Beziers, not the resulting polygon. The way that the polygon is
used to determine loop directions is also modified.

Also fix the mouse behavior when dragging a point: drop it when the
mouse is released, even if it is released outside the window, but
don't drop it if the pointer is dragged out of and then back into
our window.

Also special-case SSurface::ClosestPointTo() for planes, for speed.

Jonathan Westhues ae35b3595c Revamp the edge classification for Booleans. I no longer make a
separate polygon of coincident (with same or opposite normal)
faces; I instead test all the edges against the other shell, and
have extended the classify-against-shell stuff to handle those
cases.

And the normals are now perturbed a bit numerically, to either side
of the edge, to distinguish tangency from a coincident surface.

This seems to work fairly well, although things still tend to fail
when the piecewise linear tolerance is too coarse.

These sections get projected (possibly in perspective, which I do
correctly) into 2d and exported.

Except, for now they just get pwl'd in the export files. That's the
fallback, since it works for any file format. But that's the place
to add special cases for circles etc., or to export them exactly.
DXF supports the latter, but very painfully since I would need to

Jonathan Westhues acadc0a918 Many changes:
* Rewrite surface handles in curves, so that Booleans beyond
      the first don't screw up.

    * If an intersection curve is identical to an existing curve
(as happens when faces are coincident), take the piecewise
linearization of the existing curve; this stops us from
screwing up when different shells are pwl'd at different
      chord tols.

    * Hook up the plane faces again.

    * Remove coincident (parallel or anti-parallel) edges from the
coincident-face edge lists when doing Booleans; those may
happen if two faces are coincident with ours.

    * Miscellaneous bugfixes.
